Gold, diamond and emerald evil eye necklace

Evil Eye

The Evil Eye - a centuries old symbol of protection, repeatedly modernized to wear as a reflection of both style and cultural tradition. We were first commissioned to make a piece for a special client and loved the project so much that we delved into the full history, what it means, and how it has been interpreted. The Evil Eye has been done in so many ways, we couldn’t just replicate it as a symbol. We wanted to honor its significance using volume and symmetry and crystal clear gems to get lost in (as in “get lost, envy"). Read more about our findings here and contact us to inquire about our new favorites.

MORE ABOUT THE EVIL EYE COLLECTION

The evil eye is an ancient symbol of protection that is said to keep evil eyes and negativity or bad luck away from the wearer. An evil eye is said to be a look sending harm or ill-will to the recipient and often originates through jealousy or envy of someone. Wearing the evil eye as a protective talisman is thought to deflect evil eyes and bring good luck to the wearer. The evil eye has become such a popular symbol that it has expanded from traditional jewelry to every type of accessory. Our first evil eye design was an evil eye bangle with emerald eyes and rows of pavé diamonds. It inspired the entire collection that quickly expanded to include different pendant styles, a ring and designs for commission. The pendants are available in multiple sizes and even with lashes and a diamond tear drop. There are so many beautiful ways to customize the pieces in this collection. Read our story on the evil eye to learn more about what evil eye colors mean, the history and more. Contact us to schedule a consultation to discuss possibilities or for more information on any of our evil eye jewelry designs.

ABOUT LINDSEY SCOGGINS STUDIO

From the corporate side to the creative side, Lindsey Scoggins has been immersed in the jewelry world since 2003 in a variety of roles. Her goal all along was to create her own design studio, which she finally did in 2017 when a family member asked for a custom design and gave her creative license. Lindsey’s designs aim to balance precision with purpose. Whether it’s conveying the love story between a couple or an ode to a new phase of life, each piece is meant to be one of the most cherished and unique pieces in your jewelry box. While she primarily focuses on bespoke client commissions, her recent collection expansions offer clients a multitude of ways to customize their jewelry, ranging from the Note to Self collection, a series of bangles with a variety of stone configurations and personal messages, to the sculptural Evil Eyes of the Talisman collection, with a lot of one of a kind creations in between. Her latest collection is celestial inspired and displays her talent for designing collections that are entirely different from the ones that came before. Her design aesthetic draws on her upbringing as an artist painting and sewing with her grandmothers, as well as her degree in architecture, and refined by her extensive experience and appreciation of the fine jewelry supply chain. The crisp, clean and bold style is ever present in her pieces, with an emphasis on lines of extension, pattern repetition, and balanced asymmetry. All of this is underpinned by meticulous attention to construction and functionality. Lindsey’s jewelry is designed and made in the Diamond District where she closely oversees the entire process. Tailored to the female self-purchaser, each piece serves a purpose and fulfills a dream, making it so much more than just a beautiful piece of jewelry.
