CUSTOM DESIGN STORY: A ONE OF A KIND EMERALD CUT ENGAGEMENT RING WITH BAGUETTES

BRINGING TO LIFE A ONE OF A KIND DESIGN
Deciding on an engagement ring setting is a huge decision. It is often one of the first and most expensive jewelry purchases made - and of course making sure it's perfect for the recipient is the most important thing. This custom design story shows the design process and stages that led to the final piece - a stunning emerald cut diamond engagement ring with baguettes and milgrain details. These unique elements form an entirely unique and special style with so many personal touches. Discover the custom design story below.
THE FIRST DESIGNS
We started with some unique, vintage inspired halo designs centered around an emerald cut diamond. Both settings combine round and baguette diamonds to add interesting proportions to the ring with a touch of Art Deco inspiration. The bands also included pavé diamonds for an additional touch of sparkle.
THE FINAL DESIGNS
After some reflection, our client wanted to try something that was a bit sleeker. The next round of designs enlarged the baguette diamonds and used those as the main design element instead of the halo. We kept pavé diamonds on the sides of the band and explored options to add milgarin detailing throughout the setting.
THE FINAL PIECE
The final ring has a bit of everything wrapped into one. The emerald cut diamond center stone is flanked by elongated baguette diamonds to elegantly complement the center stone. While the setting is entirely modern, there are nods to vintage inspiration throughout the fine details. It is a truly unique piece yet still feels timeless and traditional. The milgrain edges add a special touch that gives the setting a regal feel. This custom ring is a stunning symbol of love and new beginnings.
