Creating the perfect engagement ring means considering many factors to ensure your final piece is as unique as you are. One of the first steps in the design process can be choosing the ideal diamond shape. This can be overwhelming at first as diamonds can be cut and polished in a wide variety of styles. Ever-changing design trends can influence this decision-making process, but often some of the most popular diamond cuts are the classic, most-loved styles.

From Classics to the Contemporary

One of the most recognizable cuts is a round brilliant cut style. It’s a classic for a reason, and most brides choose this style due to the 57 perfectly aligned facets. This means the way it catches the light creates a spectacular and unforgettable sparkle.

Another of the classics among popular diamonds is the emerald cut which is unmatched in showcasing clarity due to its rows of facets that bring with it a sophisticated vintage quality.

If you are looking for a timeless diamond shape that will elongate the finger and create a lot of brilliance an oval cut diamond is the most popular diamond cut for this purpose. The softened oval shape brings a special touch of elegance and timelessness and draws the eye line down.

Most recently the emerald cut diamond has experienced a resurgence due to its popularity with celebrities and public figures. This is one of the most popular diamond cuts for brides who want that special sparkle. It's brilliant, linear facets balance contemporary angular lines with glamorous sparkle to showcase the stone’s brightness and allow it to catch the light.
